Tribute to the man!!!

Easily one of the best action sports events to ever hit Milwaukee was last weekends Generation Evel at the Harley-Davidson Museum. Superstars from every facet of BMX were there strutting their stuff for the Milwaukee patrons. Division was invited and ridaz J.J. Flairty (pictured) Mykel Larrin, jason “Tippy” Minor and Tim Knoll participated as the home town contingent.

Drew Bezanson came all the way from Nova Scotia to participate in the shows. Check out how much stuff is going down in this picture. Dark Custom take off ramp, check. Vietnam 2 1/2 ton 6 wheeler, check. Cannon ball at height with awesome background, check.

Nate Wessel not only built the ramps but also shredded them into toothpicks. Nac-nac seat grab by one of the few individuals that can make anything look burly. Yeah Nate!

BMX icon Mike “Rooftop” Escamilla thrilled the crowd with his antics and tricks. Full commitment nosepick on the back-railing under the watchful eye of Division announcer Micah Kranz. Check him out on LA Ink this whole season.

Here is a nice overview of the course. All pics taken by Dave Friemuth.

Location:Milwaukee WI

Ottawa Super Expo

Ottawa Super Expo has been held for 122 consecutive years, that’s pretty impressive when you think about it. Before the circus, or the organized fair, there was the Super Ex, with sideshows and snake oil salesmen. It was an honor they invited Division to bring our exciting brand of Bmx action. The boys put down some of the best shows of the summer! Pictured is Ottawa native and all around good person Steven Moxley. It’s wonderful to have a local come hold his own and show how every city has a Bmx scene.

Rollie Flasch is a menace on and off his bike. He took the trip to Ottawa and looked as comfortable as ever on the box jump. He progressed every day and by the end of the trip had an all new arsenal of tricks.

We met some new friends in eight six six industries and they rode commendably. Billy Van Vaut at the helm of this Cliff Hanger.

Mykel Larrin doing him, as he would say. Super whip with full body extension. There will be an edit made for this show in the near future so keep an eye out for that! Pictures stolen/used with permission from Chris Topp (www.christopp.ca) and Denis Chatterton (http://www.pplmove.com)

This event is shaping up to be one of the biggest action sport events to ever hit Milwaukee.  Harley-Davidson has teamed up with some amazing BMX stars and asked Division BMX to be involved in so many ways.  Come down to the museum and check out the all of the Evel Memorabilia and even Travis Pastrana’s double flip X Games bike.

Drew Bezanson, Brian Kachinsky,Mike Escamilla, Nate Wessel, and Chad Kagy are all scheduled to be riding the custom built course while Micah Kranz and Zack “Catfish” Yankush will be holding down the microphones.  You won’t want to miss this Milwaukee exclusive event coming THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!

Midwestbmx.net

Jeff K of Midwestbmx.net fame made this quick video for his website.  There has been a lot of work done and props to him for keeping the Midwest BMX scene well represented.  Thanks for doing shows with us and good luck with all your travels Jeff!

Brady Street Life…

Brady Street shows went down without a hitch and again this year the people of Milwaukee were treated to some hometown talent.  Pictured here is Mykel Larrin flipping over Joel Goltry.  We wish nothing but good vibes to Joel after his motorcycle accident.  He is recovering well and should be back in the swing of shows soon!  For the record, all photo’s in this section were stolen from photographers Steven Alexander and Bonnie DeLap.

Quinn Semling made a surprise appearance at the Brady Street Festival.  He was in Chicago riding in the Dew Tour Open and while visiting his family  decided to grace the Milwaukee crowd with one of their superstar son’s.  Here he is pictured in the middle of a 360, with a face only a mother can love.

Rollie Flash has a new bike and has rekindled his love for doing BMX shows once again.  He has been progressing the nothing variations lately and spinning 360’s with his eyes closed.  Take a look at the people’s faces at the bottom of the photo.  BMX shows extend to every age range.  BMX IS AWESOME!

J.J. Flairty has a passion for anything with handlebars and here he is with a BMX in his hands.  He always has a smile on his face and has never missed a Brady Street Festival.  He is simply doing an air on the face of the ramp but this picture shows how stylish J.J. is on his bike.  Not a limb off the body and still it is a great looking picture.  Awesome American flag in the background.  J.J. Flairty is BMX fun!

mykelgriz

This picture is just too cool not to use.  Amazing angle of a Griz Air preformed by Mykel Larrin.  He does this trick on vert, in flips, and straight over box jumps.  May he never stop doing this trick, it just looks so good!

Northwestern Michigan Fair

Fmx and Bmx combination shows are becoming the norm lately. It’s good to stay well versed in the action sports regalia and meet new characters in other respected sports. Here is our set up all artsy fartsy.

Cody Elkins dot com’s truck parked like he’s in Weatherford Oklahoma. Flips galore and good times had by all. Thanks Travers City!

ASA shows..

Division bmx rider Koji Kraft and announcer Micah Kranz took a fast trip to St Louis for a few shows at a Six Flags resort. The fans ate it up and the riders killed it in 100% humidity.

Koji Kraft is a vert specialist and was right at home on the “tin can.” Here he is doing a gigantic tailwhip at height! Ridaz!

For no other reason than the truth, Jimmy Walker rules. He is in his 40’s and progressing still. In fact, he is having his best contest year of his life. Division supports Jimmy!

When you see a pink elephant along-side the road you always stop. Rule #1!

Fox six wake up…

Rollie Flash, Tim Knoll, and Mykel Larrin were asked to do some promotion work for Brady Street Festival at Fox Six wake-up studios. The boys got up really early and did some great work.

Here Rollie Flash blasts a superman while a woman from Brady Street gets interviewed. This might have been the worst parking lot Division has ever done a show on.

The real shocker of the day was watching Tim Knoll pull his first ever Backflip on a box jump. His creative riding is now progressing into box jumps and street jibs. Go Tim Go!

The box jump session got cut short for Tim knoll when he went a little slow and “lawn darted.” This is why you don’t jump flatland bikes!

Lake Owen Camp

Mykel hooked up a Lake Owen camp session after the Minnesota shows and we had a blast. For being part of the Woodward family it sure feels different than a normal Woodard session in the hills of Pennsylvania. The place is amazing fun and the facilities make for a plethora of lines. Thanks for having us Lake Owen!

Koji Kraft with a fine fastplant. He used to be a gymnast, can you tell?

This micro mini was a favorite at camp. It’s basically a 4′ mini spine with an amazing hip into it. Who would have thought that a small ramp could be so fun? Mykel Larrin putting the hip to good use.

Chisago Skatepark…

While driving to Lake Owen Camp from Taste of Minnesota we stumbled upon a small Skatepark right off the highway. We saw a few Bmx riders and decided to go ride. Division Bmx is about getting kids on bikes and getting a fulfilled life from it. Koji Kraft and Mykel Larrin put on a little demo for the kids and did a good job getting kids stoked. You never know who will show up to any small Skatepark at any time! Pictured above is Koji with a 360 nosepick on a small small spine.

Mykel Larrin loves small ramps. He’s trying his luck on the big ramps for Dew Tour but shredded the place regardless. Rumor has it both Koji and Mykel flip trained that spine…

This is what it’s about. Division BMX is for the children. Stay on those bikes!!

Koji taking it all in. All another day in the pro very class.

The park also had some small dirt jumps and Scott D helped the kids gain knowledge about the scene. To everyone that wants to ride dirt; build in the woods, find a water source, and get shovels and a wheel barrow. It’ll be one of the more gratifying things you do with your life! Thanks to the locals for letting us ride!
