Tribute to the man!!!

Easily one of the best action sports events to ever hit Milwaukee was last weekends Generation Evel at the Harley-Davidson Museum. Superstars from every facet of BMX were there strutting their stuff for the Milwaukee patrons. Division was invited and ridaz J.J. Flairty (pictured) Mykel Larrin, jason “Tippy” Minor and Tim Knoll participated as the home town contingent.

Drew Bezanson came all the way from Nova Scotia to participate in the shows. Check out how much stuff is going down in this picture. Dark Custom take off ramp, check. Vietnam 2 1/2 ton 6 wheeler, check. Cannon ball at height with awesome background, check.

Nate Wessel not only built the ramps but also shredded them into toothpicks. Nac-nac seat grab by one of the few individuals that can make anything look burly. Yeah Nate!

BMX icon Mike “Rooftop” Escamilla thrilled the crowd with his antics and tricks. Full commitment nosepick on the back-railing under the watchful eye of Division announcer Micah Kranz. Check him out on LA Ink this whole season.

Here is a nice overview of the course. All pics taken by Dave Friemuth.

Northwestern Michigan Fair

Fmx and Bmx combination shows are becoming the norm lately. It’s good to stay well versed in the action sports regalia and meet new characters in other respected sports. Here is our set up all artsy fartsy.

Cody Elkins dot com’s truck parked like he’s in Weatherford Oklahoma. Flips galore and good times had by all. Thanks Travers City!

ASA shows..

Division bmx rider Koji Kraft and announcer Micah Kranz took a fast trip to St Louis for a few shows at a Six Flags resort. The fans ate it up and the riders killed it in 100% humidity.

Koji Kraft is a vert specialist and was right at home on the “tin can.” Here he is doing a gigantic tailwhip at height! Ridaz!

For no other reason than the truth, Jimmy Walker rules. He is in his 40’s and progressing still. In fact, he is having his best contest year of his life. Division supports Jimmy!

When you see a pink elephant along-side the road you always stop. Rule #1!

Chisago Skatepark…

While driving to Lake Owen Camp from Taste of Minnesota we stumbled upon a small Skatepark right off the highway. We saw a few Bmx riders and decided to go ride. Division Bmx is about getting kids on bikes and getting a fulfilled life from it. Koji Kraft and Mykel Larrin put on a little demo for the kids and did a good job getting kids stoked. You never know who will show up to any small Skatepark at any time! Pictured above is Koji with a 360 nosepick on a small small spine.

Mykel Larrin loves small ramps. He’s trying his luck on the big ramps for Dew Tour but shredded the place regardless. Rumor has it both Koji and Mykel flip trained that spine…

This is what it’s about. Division BMX is for the children. Stay on those bikes!!

Koji taking it all in. All another day in the pro very class.

The park also had some small dirt jumps and Scott D helped the kids gain knowledge about the scene. To everyone that wants to ride dirt; build in the woods, find a water source, and get shovels and a wheel barrow. It’ll be one of the more gratifying things you do with your life! Thanks to the locals for letting us ride!

Summerfest Awesomeness

Another successful Summerfest in the books. At 6 years of involvement, Division has become a staple of the worlds largest music festival. Pictured are announcers Chris Oestreich and Joel Goeltry taking perfect form while Mykel Larrin blasts a flip with 3 extra feet to spare. Flash stolen from Greg Dickson.

Tim Knoll could carry an entire show on his shoulders. Heck, he could carry an entire weight room on his shoulders if he really wanted. In all seriousness Tim rode more consistent than ever and even threw in a few tricks on the ramp. Progression is encouraged. He also wore that jersey every show, every day.

I’ve used Rollie’s superman in so many edits, so many posters, and so many updates. Still they never get old. Rollie Flasch is a seasoned Summerfest Veteran and it showed in all graded areas.

I have no idea how to rotate this picture from a phone but maybe turn your monitor sideways and let Scott D tabletop into your hearts. This was his first run at the Big Gig as well as Alex Landaros’. Hope you boys had fun! Plans are already being made for next year. Keep an eye on here for an edit of the shows!

Summer Solstice…

It’s not often that shows go down three blocks from the Division headquarters, but when they do it turns into a free-for-all on the box jump. All the heavy hitters were in attendence and flaunting their moves for the fashionable Milwaukee crowd. Mykel Larrin pictured doing a super-whip.

Koji Kraft is a world champion. You really can’t say that about a lot of people. He is highly skilled, doesn’t get the credit he is deserved, and might be the best show rider ever. Straight Indian.

Rollie Flasch has boost. In his first show of the summer he came out blasting. This is him with the kindness of keeping his face in the picture frame. When this photo was popped, he was still rising in the air. The shows were unreal. Thank you cans bar and Canteen!

Momma Kranz Retirement Party…

Mrs. Kranz taught high school for 38th years and upon her retirement, she asked Division BMX to come out and make her party special. There are a lot of firsts here, Wades first flip over people, Momma Kranz’s first time being jumped, and the first retirement party show ever done.

Don’t think amazing riding didn’t go down at the show. Rollie Flasch launching over Tim Knoll’s feet the hard way. New bike and a good tuck. Trail Ridaz!

Boom! Wade Lajlar with a super whip. Keep an eye out for a Wade edit soon enough. Heat, heat, HEAT!

Tippy gets his…

Tippy will never get the recognition he deserves. He Is always down to help, and does it with a smile on his face. Ninja kick 3 whip from a longtime member. He’s also done this more than me.

All photos from the last few days stolen from Kurt at bmxunion.com and digbmx.com. He is wonderfuly talented peoples!

Days and days of driving…

Division team is still driving back from Mexico and finding the most entertainment in Truck stops along the way. They help the sanity return because they are so outragous. Arizona for example.

This is the rear view snapshot. Cody Cavanaugh, Mykel Larrin and Micah Kranz. Drivaz!

This is a friendly reminder of the fun had last weekend. Mykel was a special guest in a Brazillian bicycle demonstration. Let me tell you Mykel had 40 pounds on the guy and he still rode a long long way. Be back to Milwaukee soon. Bmx is awesome!

Obregon Expo

The Obreagon Expo went down and to this date, it was one of the best shows division had been a part of. The show consisted of FMX, Quad, and of course BMX. More than a few people complimented that the BMX guys held their own against the 70 ft Fmx riders. Still everyone came together and put on a fantastic show.

This was the set up used. Borrowed from the Mutunte BMX crew. The ramps were as good as the riders.

Speaking of the riders, Division’s good friends Luis and Jorge came and shredded in front of the thousands of Mexican fans. BMX in Mexico is serious and those guys can hold their own to any other scene. Thanks again boys.

The fans for the autograph session. Extreme Pilots forever!
